I am not a feminist. I do notice a constant sexualization of women and girls.I'm not so sure that having eyes to see with makes me somehow insecure as the one comment suggested. A year or so ago there was a big deal made of the butt cracks of the male models in the Abercrombe Fitch ad resulting in the poster ads being forced down. At that very time a long running ad for Lubriderm with the same amount of butt crack of the woman showing and not on a poster but on tv and this was not removed.I was shocked by the commercial and double shocked when the poster story made headlines in the news. You don't have to agree but I concider that a sexist double standard. And as I understood the story, it was men who started the whole deal off saying the poster wasw vulger. Maybe they were insecure and want men to all wear sweaters and suits.

What a load of bullcrap?

The guys who touch other girls in public places - did get it through advertisements. They got it through being super desperate to touch a female.

There were no advertisements in the 17 hundreds - did all men in the world respect women that time?

You could read this for an equally strong counter argument.

I agree it's in bad taste, but the "training" remark is pretty insulting

Zund, "As a guy, myself - I think you need to be around normal people, rather than uneducated idiots like this. (Providing this actually happened)".

As a guy myself, I think you are mssing the point. These aren't always men women know doing this; most of the time it is strangers, in a public place.

Thank you for what I assume is a well thought out argument, short sighted and narrow minded yes, but thank you for keeping it discussion-worthy. While you are entitled to your opinion on the matter, I've always thought it was prudent to stay on topic. This site is about women, hence the post. If you want to read about ads that objectify men and the effect it has on society then feel free to do a little research and respond with a post of your own.
