People do not watch it for intelligent women (the contest has never had any), but women with different kinds of frontal lobes. She's an idiot, but it's not really her fault. Genetics gave her large.....uh...lobes in the wrong region. I've spoken in front of large groups and I have gotten extremely nervous but I still maintained an intelligent and coherent speech. She's trained for this before and been in front of large crowds (she did, after all, win the Miss Teen South Carolina contest before) so there is no excuse for this. People need to realize these contests have women who are like a Van Gogh work: They're pretty but you can't have a conversation with one. That's just what this US American thinks. I watched the video with pained empathy. I give public presentations and teach difficult audiences many times every week. I have the same mind-blank experiences. She'd been under a lot of stress for an extended period of time, and she simply cracked. Just like WE ALL DO from time to time, just not on national TV. I'm impressed with her grace after the flub; she's still a lovely young lady and I'm sure she will do well in college. It was a flub, not a sin. She has nothing to be ashamed of, unlike all the carrion-sniffers in the blogosphere who love to descend on someone who displays a little human nature. She panicked. You can tell she was taught how to answer questions not relating to something as dumb as that 1. I won't laugh at her at all, but she should've known making a mistake up there woudv'e cause this.
