What do you think of when you walk into an office? Do you make assumptions based on gender?
He’s not at his desk
- He must be at a meeting
She is not at her desk
- She must be at the ladies room
I came across this list of 12 different office impressions. I’d be willing to bet that most people are guilty of at least one of them, if not more. Once again, I think this list has more to do with the subconscious than anything.
So…who wants to admit that they’ve been guilty of one of these?

I’m probably guilty of the bathroom one…not on purpose though!

We just had a “situation” caused by this sort of thinking. Just because I am a smoker, every time that I went into the warehouse it was assumed by a new corporate manager that I must be smoking. Never mind that I also take care of the tradeshows and have to get crates packed up, or look for a product for a customer. Nope, I must be smoking.
