Is This Really Necessary?

MTV has said that the advertisement for Sean Combs’ (AKA Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, Diddy…I’ve lost track) fragrance is too racy and they won’t air it unless some changes are made.

“According to the New York Post, the new spot features Combs and model Jessica Gomez lustfully embracing each other in a hotel room and a stairwell. During the spot, Combs pulling up Gomez skirt and putting his hands under her dress. In another scene, a woman holds Gomez’s breast and pulls down her underwear.” [Source]

I’m offended and I haven’t even seen the commercial. Is this what we’ve come to as a society? I’m all for creative advertising but sometimes people take it a bit too far. Is this what it takes to sell a product? - I think not. I wonder if this ad is for the fragrance for men or the new one for women….but I have pretty good guess to the answer to that.

So far, Combs has refused to edit the commercial.

Last year print ads for the fragrance had to be re-shot because they were deemed to raunchy for bus stops and department stores.
