So, knowing that public school essentially is merely a prep for prison, why are you not homeschooling? Seriously.

Every girl has their period, its not something girls should be ashamed about! WHO CARES? let the whole world know you are just like every other female on Earth, and able to bear children. I can't wait for the day when it is okay for girls to have their period, without feeling gross and unnatural. Just because males don't menstruate, doesn't mean its wrong! It is completely natural, and who cares if someone asks about it? They needed to know for issues regarding their policies on bags!

We never carry anything dangerous? Are you kidding? I've hidden razor blades in my clothes before (not my bra, but still...). Yes, those were for hurting myself, not others, but they could easily be used for hurting others too.

That's horrible... that girl shouldn't have been embarrassed like that. =/

"One strategy would be to use reusable cotton sanitary napkins. He would be in for quite a surprise when caught pawing through a bag containing napkins destined for the laundry."

Yes, lets make him suffer for doing his job ¬_¬

There is obviously some sort of security reason as to why the security guard needed to check that no one had backpacks and the like. And how else could he have found out why she had that small purse. I think he was in the right to inquire but I also think he should have either let the girl explain it or mention how he is obligated to ask before he did so.

"What’s next? Breast checks to make sure they aren’t hiding any dangerous items down their shirts?" No, because girls never carry anything dangerous, its unladylike

Obviously sanitary napkins and tampons are not the best protection against nosy security guards.

One strategy would be to use reusable cotton sanitary napkins. Girls can stop wasting their money on throwaways that pollute the environment and if searched by a guard, he would be in for quite a surprise when caught pawing through a bag containing napkins destined for the laundry.

Just a thought. I'd love to hear others.

I stumbled upon this & what's ironic is that right before this, I stumbled upon a picture portraying our current status as fascist. One reviewer was appalled anyone could possibly consider our great country as fascist, but in all honesty, fear is one of the most often used tools to take down a democracy on the road to fascism. One commenter at the source played right into this fear factor by angrily stating that kids lie, etc., etc. While I agree that viewpoint is valid, I wouldn't point it out as a fear marker if the commenter had been less strident about it. I am scared for our country, but I do not fear my life will end from a terrorist act, an office rampage, etc. nor do I fear the young ones in my life are going to die from a Columbine-esc type situation. Yes, the possibility is there & yes, people are crazier than ever before, but I cannot live my life in fear. I would rather live my life in freedom..protected freedoms...not freedoms taken away "for" my protection.
