Rape That Hoe? Are You Serious?
Someone thinks it’s clever to make up a dance.
They decide to call it the rape dance.
They bring it to school, and all the teenagers dance as if they are having wild intercourse while screaming “rape that hoe.” Oh, excuse me, I mean “rape dat hoe”.
Sadly, this isn’t a sick creation of my mind, it’s something that really happened at Mitchell High School in Memphis.
The clips have been posted all over Youtube, and now it’s all over the news. Don’t expect to find the Youtube clips, but WREG does have a small clip on the website.
I’d probably be speechless if I wasn’t so disgusted, but what’s bothering me most is that people’s first inclination is to blame the school.
Yes, schools have to be held accountable for what goes on when students are on their property, but at the same time this issue is a lot deeper than the schools.
If the kids weren’t doing it at schools, they’d be doing it at home so my question is why is the first thought to lash out at school administrators instead of lashing out at the parents who raised such foul and ignorant children?
Geez, those are harsh words to use when speaking about a child, but what else can I say?
You can blame the TV, music videos, and songs all day long; but when it comes down to it, people have to be held accountable for what goes on in their homes.
You can’t shield kids from everything, and some bad influences are going to seep through, but you have to educate them, especially our young girls, so that the thought of laying on the ground gyrating your hips like a dog in heat sounds ridiculous- not cool.
These girls need to know that they are worth more than their hips, butts, and breasts. These young men need know that being a man has nothing to do with using your penis.
So how does blaming the schools and punishing staff members accomplish that? It doesn’t. Instead what it does it put a bandaid on a gun wound.
Because after all is said and done, people are fired, sanctions are issued, and apologies are made…those kids will still be chanting “rape dat hoe”.

The problem is that people don’t care about what’s going on with them because they are too busy worried about what everyone else is doing.
If people minded their **** business and took care of theirs then this wouldn’t even be happening. Heck, these kids mothers are the ones teaching them to shake their behinds and be fast.
