@Tracee Ah, I gotcha.

@LD Feel free to share your opinions whenever you feel so inclined. As for TD Jakes, sorry but I can't take religious advice from a man who doesn't believe in the Trinity.

my forte. you know me enough to know two things,

1. I am saved.
2. I'm a feminist.

you know, look at how Jesus associated with women. Jesus redeemed women from societies trap constantly.

And for better Christian reading, try TD Jakes, and Juanita Bynum (circa 2007) and Joyce Meyer, and Lisa Bevere, and a whole lot of other people. God has used a lot of people in the Charasmatic/Pentecostal/Evangelical/Non Denominational vein to speak to women and their societal confines.

I have tons to say on this topic, but it would take forever for me to divulge.

Disagreeable as in "we can not agree on how it works."

Jesus was a feminist.

You have to understand that people are going to be opinionated no matter what the topic is. It doesn't matter if it's parenting, or politics, or religion; people will always insert their opinions
and interpretations.

You will have some people that believe you and go along with that, and then you'll have others that form their own opinion. That's
where the differences in Christianity come.

It's no different than any other topic so I don't think it's fair to label Chrisitans as disagreeable. Everyone isn't the same.

Just as I always say it's not fair to label all women who want respect as radical, foolish, women who are destroying society.

I am Christian, and I always will be. But that doesn't mean I agree with everything that "Christians" say and do. There's a lot of groups that call themselves Christians and I wish they wouldn't because they are doing nothing but spreading lies.

But as for me, I will always use my brain and read the Bible for what it is, and not twist it into something that puts men as Kings and lords over women. I don't believe that's what God intended, but that's what humanity turned it into. To all who do believe that was God's intention, I have to ask, how did Jesus treat women?

That's absurd S. Dunn.

Christians have to be the most disagreeable people on earth. That's why there are so many Christian denominations.

"The Terms" aren't the same in all churches.

I won't agree to any terms in which I'm second. And I have to say it's a pretty negative way to get women to convert. No thanks.

If you are Christian then that means you agree to the terms. Men are first, women are second and that's just how it is.

Perhaps it's the brand of Christianity and religious material your reading. Certain brands of Christianity have been primarily responsible for the repression and oppression of women.

Methodists are a safe bet for feminists. They allow women in leadership roles. They don't expect you to give up your identity for your husband. They encourage women to preach and teach and have autonomy. That's rare in religious circles.

Spiritually you might consider A New Earth which has a take on women that's interesting. Eckhart Tolle says that men became so involved with their egos and their desire to hoard all the worldly power that they got cut off spiritually.

He feels that today women are closer to enlightenment and closer to God because they have not had any outward power to identify themselves with.
