I never considered this to be a “traditional” feminism blog as really I don’t consider myself a feminist. I don’t like labels.

One of my goals with this blog was to drop the labels and misconceptions and promote the message that everyone should be able to choose whatever role in life they want to play- regardless of gender.

Of course, I used the term feminist on some of my posts but that was only for clarification purposes as “woman who doesn’t subscribe to every patriarchal notion shoved down her throat” is too long of a title.

I decided to only write on a weekly basis because if I didn’t, I’d feel as if I was just ranting day after day about the injustices to women; and though other blogs choose that route, that’s not what I wanted this blog to be about. It gets tiring.

Instead, I wanted this blog to be about empowerment and opening people’s minds to issues that we as a culture tend to be desensitized to.

Have I succeeded? There’s no definite answer, but it does put a smile on my face every time I get an email or read a comment where someone tells me “thank you for saying that, I never thought about it that way”.

So here’s to one year of the All Diva Blog.
