Breast is Best?
The breastfeeding baby doll is making headlines all over. From message boards, to blogs, to TV shows; everyone is talking about Bebé Glotón, a doll from Spain that simulates breastfeeding.
The child wears a halter top that has flowers in the nipple area. When the doll is brought to the flowers, it makes a suckling sound and motion. So now Susie can breastfeed just like mommy. Here’s a video demonstration.
Some people don’t like it. Some people love it. The arguments range from “this is natural and girls need to know that breastfeeding is normal. “ to “this is inappropriate for a young girl and I am shocked!”
Personally, I don’t like it. I don’t have a well thought out argument as to why, but it just doesn’t float my boat.
What do you think about this toy? Would you buy it for your daughter?
My first thought is - Why? Because we don’t have enough stuff out there trying to make our babies act like little grown ups?
I agree - breast feeding is great - but not when you’re a kid. It just seems very wrong.
