Too Young For Makeup?
Since when do 13 year olds wear makeup?
On an episode of Dr. Phil a father wanted advice on raising his teenage daughter. Of course the issue of makeup came up, and a guest Dr. on the show said that 13 was an ok age if she was doing it because she wanted to and not because she wanted to get attention from boys. Dr. Phil agreed. He even asked, “do you think she wants to wear makeup for the right reasons?”
My question is, unless it’s Halloween or a school play, what reasons would a 13 year old have to wear makeup except for if she wanted to attract boys (or fit in with the other girls)?
Neither of those seem like the “right reason” but someone please enlighten me if I am off base.
When I was growing up the rule was that at 16 makeup ok, never before.
I think young girls wearing makeup sends the wrong message. Not necessarily to other people, but to the girls themselves who think that makeup is one of the top four necessities; right after low carb food, Evian water, and revealing clothes.
How do you feel about the makeup issue?
Well That’s Interesting….
- A woman wearing a lesbian t-shirt was thrown out of a US government building. Before you shake your head in agreement and say “good!”, consider that you could be next. What happens when someone wears a shirt that said Feminist, Muslim, or Christian? I’m sure there are some who find those terms offensive should they be kicked out as well? Besides, from the looks of this picture, the shirt looks like any other plain, white t-shirt in America.
- This is offensive and NOT kid-friendly. There’s an energy drink that is named after an offensive name for a part of a woman’s body. This is just silly and I’m not going to waste time commenting on it any further.
- I am so sick of politics and this election that I could scream. Nevertheless, this story is quite interesting. Apparently you can’t say “the c-word” on the radio. And I don’t mean saying the actual word, I mean saying “the c-word”.
- Here we go again with the extreme “I hate anything that could possibly be seen as a gender role or stereotype” routine. While sitting half naked in a bed filled with pink computer accessories is a bit much for me, Dell marketing pink laptops isn’t a big deal in my opinion. My sister happens to love pink and would jump for joy if she could have a pink laptop with a matching bag and cell phone case. So instead of sticking your nose up as if the whole idea is appalling, how about asking where are the OTHER ads geared towards women that aren’t pink.
Woman vs. Woman - I Am More Woman Than You Are
Is it now common thought that completing basic household tasks makes a woman less empowered?
Here is a commercial that is supposedly very sexist.
Apparently it’s the “taking care of my home is a dream” line that has some so disgusted.
Give me a break. Haven’t you ever referred to something as a dream, as in a good experience, not as in a future aspiration?
